What is prayer? I know we’re supposed to know the answer to this question, but time is needed to learn what prayer means to you – what prayer means to God.
Reaching out to the Living God in praise, petition, and thanksgiving. Something of great value, not taken lightly or treated casually. A holy experience: The creation is touching the Creator – the saved acknowledging the Savior.
It’s the moment God listens. What does He hear? What do they want from Him? How will He answer? How will He respond?
The Holy Spirit dwells in the spirit of man. He speaks the truth to intercede on our behalf. We reach out to the Living God in spirit and truth. He listens.
“Prayer is holy. What you give to God is holy. In His love, He accepts the yielded heart.God’s “yes” is right. “no” is good “wait” is treasured He doesn’t favor the unrepentant. Their lips move, but their hearts are from Him. God turns a deaf ear to those who refuse to forgive or harbor bitterness in their heart. The selfish prayer goes unanswered.
Prayer gets us right with God. Behind closed doors – in the Secret Place – He is there. Bring Him your doubts, your fears and let Him have your weakness. Let Him be your Savior. Let Him be your Lord. Say with me, “I Love You, Lord, my strength!”
God listens to hear them. He has set them apart for His good purposes. God communes with them. He knows their voice finding pleasure in their words. The living God delights in giving them the desire of their heart. Their desire is God.
Prayer – moments with God. He is their true inheritance. Gold, silver, and all the wealth in the world will not satisfy them. They find their heart’s desire in Him alone. He is their all in all.
Our Father in heaven, Holy is Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Powerful. Beautiful. Holy.
