A yielded heart is simply the way we come to the Father – how we enter the Secret Place, behind closed doors, to meet our Lord. It took me years to understand the truth – we’re spiritual being with spiritual needs.
It’s no mystery we want to journey to the heart of God. But why are our hearts silent, yearning for more? The truth is hidden, and our spiritual journey hindered. Taking the step toward the Holy takes courage – courage to enter in without fear. Courage to trust in the living God. Courage to know God for who He is right here today.
We’ve lost it. We’ve lost that sense of the Holy.
His touch is foreign to us; we’ve misplaced the ability to withdraw alone in Him. The busy-ness of life is our enemy. The Secret Place is void of our shadow. We’ve forgotten His presence refreshes our soul, calms our mind and sets our heart right.
I believe, what’s lost can be found.
Our thoughts formed, our actions regulated and our lives molded by Scripture. Shallow knowledge brings shallow faith. Sipping at the well of a Sunday sermon or nibbling on a quick devotional yields an emaciated soul.
The enemy of that soul knows only to well we’re easily satisfied with a little at the sacrifice of abundance!
“The soul has eyes with which to see and ears with which to hear. Feeble they may be from long disuse, but by the life-giving touch of Christ they are now alive and capable of the sharpest site and most sensitive hearing.” – A.W. Tower
I write with soul-eyes and listening ears. I write what I’ve captured from a yielded heart.
I admit, what you find here is different. It’s transcendent inspiration written to encourage you in your daily walk. It is passionate, but not written with an emotional shallowness of a fanatic.
My desire – and yes, my prayer, is to leave you with a strong sense of the Holy. It is an invitation to enter into the Secret Place to feel the breath of the Holy on your soul. It’s more than a devotional – it is deep calling to deep. Join me as we discover the power and beauty of God’s Word.
It’s only the beginning of our spiritual journey to the heart of God.
No elaborate steps or “how-to” instructions. But if you look closely you’ll find hidden words shining like prisms of color just like a beautifully crafted diamond. Each post stands alone in knowledge, truth, and revelation.
This is what we speak, not in words taught by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-words. I Corinthians 2:13
