When Love Calls

Home/Heart of God/When Love Calls

When Love Calls

This morning I leave Gulfport, Ms.

Before I walk out the door, I pick up the Bible left in the cottage and write these words on the front page:

Abundant Life

You’ve never been known like He knows you –
Never felt understood until you know He understands –
Never been loved until He touches you –
Abundant Life! It’s not a reward, it’s a gift –
He treasures His treasure and His treasure you are –
His peace will guard your heart and mind as you live in Christ Jesus!

See Psalm 139, Psalm 118 and Phil 4:6-7
February 10, 2016

As I write these words I remember what day it is: February 10th – a day of remembrance – The day LOVE called.

On this date in 1972, The Living God whispered in my ear.  He called me by name and I answered Him. Forty-four years! In eternity a mere grain of sand, but for me a matter of  life and death.

In honor of His love – I say, “Good morning, Lord. I love! Is that you calling me to come? Yes, here I am to worship. Here I am to bow down. Here I am to call You, Lord! Thank You – a thousand times, thank You!”

 *Love calls  –

How beautiful you are My darling

Oh how beautiful!

Arise,
Come
My darling
My beautiful one
Come to Me

Show me your face,
Let me hear your voice;
For your voice is sweet
And your face is lovely

I answer His call –

My Lover is mine and I am His

I will search for the One my heart moves

His eternal response is love–

I have loved you with an everlasting love

When LOVE calls will I be found by Him?

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. John 4:16 NIV

*Source: Song of Songs 1:15a, 2:13, 14b, 16 and 3:2b; Jeremiah 31:3a

Blessings to all of you. I will be thinking about you as I drive back to Florida –

Yours in Him,

Chris

What a beautiful poem! I pray for the ones who will read it next… that they may be touched by His love. Thanks for sharing His love.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to write in the Bible, and all of a sudden these words came to me and then I remembered is was my rebirth day! I don’t know who will read it. I have heard the Gideon Bible has been instrumental in spreading the gospel and even saved someone from suicide. I pray these words will touch someone someday. Thank you for your encouragement. Blessings, Chris

Chris, Happy Spiritual Birthday! I’m 46 spiritually myself!

I loved the skillful way you wove Song of Songs, Jeremiah and John together to tell that only He truly loves and understands us. If only all would believe that!

God bless. Thanks for sharing at the Loft today!

First, lovely poem! I loved these thoughts: “You’ve never been known like He knows you –
Never felt understood until you know He understands” So true and something I won’t mind spending some time meditating on- swimming in the depths 😉
Second, happy rebirthday! This coming Sept. I’ll be 40, and sometime in early Oct, I’ll have known that I am known and loved by our God for 20 years. I’ll have finally known Him for as long as I hadn’t and that’s a marker I’ve been looking forward to reaching for a long time now.

    • Christine Malkemes February 11, 2016 at 9:53 pm

Ren! How beautiful the thought of knowing Him longer than not knowing Him! I never thought of that. It a treasure thought for sure. If we could speak to ourselves one year in, what would we say? Would we be able to assure her she is loved with an everlasting love or will she see the truth or be reassured? Would she bend low to with a yielded heart to His touch or accept troubled nights?

I don’t know. You got me thinking. That would be a good post. What to tell my young Christian self about maturity… Thanks for you encouragment. Blessings, Chris

Linda. I’m so glad you’ve come again to comment. Joyful! joyful! Joyful is right. I didn’t even realize the significance of the day – almost missed it – until I picked up the Bible to write a few words. I didn’t know what I was going to write, but these words just flowed from my yielded heart. Isn’t that just the way He is. Full of surprises. Blessings, Linda, blessings.

Sista bear, my heart leap within me as I read your words of truth, found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This secret call Beloved we are His beloved bride, as the lost and found child we cry “Abba Father!” He hears He is a breath away a desperate whisper a groan from the soul and He answers always He answer.
I thank Him for the drawing for no one can come to the Father unless He draws them. For the yielded heart, ear to hear and respond.
His tender touch He holds us as a Mother does against her breast,
( Hush child beloved hush now ).
I pray for traveling mercies His protection and His peace upon you. His eyes your eyes, His ears your ears, His hands your hands.
I will see you soon as we will be going to Daytona 19-21st for Nascar.
I love you and miss you and am in need of my sisters arms.
    In His matchless name.
    Little Lizzy
