I was alone – but, I wasn’t alone.
In the stillness of the morning, I picked up my journal to write, but I stopped – stopped to see what treasure God would reveal in His word.
What was He teaching me?I bowed in humbleness. I strung together His words like fine jewels on a gold chain. Click To Tweet
I cried for joy because His message was intimate, real, beautiful, and encouraging.
Words captured in the Secret Place:
To those who do not know and to those who think they know, Jesus replied,
“You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.”
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
“I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.”
My heart says of You, “Seek His face!” Your face, Lord, I seek…Teach me Your way, O Lord; lead me in a straight path…
“If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His eyes, if you pay attention to His commands and keep His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I AM the Lord who heals you.
In Your unfailing love, You will lead the people You have redeemed. In Your strength, you will guide them to Your holy dwelling.
“My son – My daughter, keep My words and store up My commands, and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the table of your heart. Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call understanding your kinsman…”
Moses said to the people,
“Do not be afraid. God has come to test you so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”
To You I call, O Lord my Rock; do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if You remain silent, I will be like those who have gone down to the pit. Hear my cry for mercy as I call to You for help, as I lift up my hands towards Your most Holy place.
“Where I cause My name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you.”
Praise be to the Lord, for He has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy, and I will give thanks to Him in song.
Good and upright is the Lord; therefore, He instructs sinners in His way. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful…
The Lord is the strength of His people, a fortress of salvation for His anointed one. Save Your people and bless Your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.
Jesus, the Lord, says,
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
Who among the gods is like You, O Lord? Who is like You – majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?
And they (the angels in heaven) were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
Moses said, Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today…The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
And the people said,
“Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
His love endures forever.”
In Your unfailing love, you will lead the people You have redeemed. In Your strength, You will guide them to your holy dwelling…The Lord will reign for ever and ever.
Thank you for joining me today to see in His intimacy: To know Him is to love Him, to love Him is to trust Him, and to trust Him is to obey Him. In the obeying the adventure begins.
Can it get any more intimate than that?
